The Magick Muse on Etsy
Hi there beautiful souls.

This past Saturday I vended at an amazing spiritual festival.
I met lots of incredible folks, made connections,
and had a wonderful time.

I went for my life coaching business. It's my heart's calling.

I also took my spiritual necklaces, intention candles, and
cigar box purses to sell.

After processing the festival, I felt a shift.

All I want to do is coach and create intention candles.

I'm done creating jewelry.
I'm sure I'll still do it from time to time.
I'm sure I'll still create a personalized piece for me or a friend,
but I'm done creating jewelry to sell.

The most important part of my life right now is
my life coaching business.

I keep shifting more and more of my energy into my coaching.

It's where I'm happiest.

I wish for all of my creations to find good homes.

I'm ready to move on.

So - I'm having a major Etsy sale!

That's right.

I want it all gone.
It's time to keep on moving on.
It's time to release the past.
It's time to embrace now.

So, go and take a look.

Please share my sale on your social media pages.

There are some one-of-a-kind creations that would make incredible birthday gifts and/or holiday gifts.

Thank you!

S is for Sheila Na Gig - Pagan Blog Project

Sheila Na Gig

I flash my vulva for all to see
I stretch it wide
the gateway that all comes through
the passageway to life
I say come through my doorway
open yourself to what is
if you have something important
show it
so everyone can see
I am the opening to this world
the scared and the silly
the wild and the wooly
the bold and the brazen
I am the Hag
opened by so many turnings
broken down
broken in
broken through
I am the portal to Life
and I say
Open Up!

*************
Sheila Na Gig is the ancient Irish Goddess of birth and death.
Honoring the sacred power of women's genitalia, they used sculptures for protection.
Would you believe that her image adorned church doorways?
Yup.
Sheila Na Gig holding open her yoni for the world to see.
That is until she was smashed or torn down by the offended.
Sigh. It's always the offended that ruins a good time.

*************
"Sheila Na Gig grins at you provocatively and invites you to join her in opening. Now is the time to open to new experiences, people, places, and things.

Now is the time to begin new projects, forge new directions, venture out boldly.
The Universe invites you to come out and play.
Perhaps you've had to contract your energy to deal with a wounding, a grieving, an ending.
Or you haven't felt it was safe to open up.
You may have needed a time of seclusion, sorting out, and focusing inward.
Sheila Na Gig is here to remind you that a period of contraction is followed by expansion and opening.
It is time to nurture wholeness by integrating what the stretching, expanding, and opening will bring."

Not all life coaches are created equal.

I recently journeyed to Las Vegas for my life coaching reunion.

It was my first time in Vegas and my first time out west.
Let me tell you,
I absolutely love the air out there.
The dry heat did my skin and body well.

I attended some great business workshops and
took lots of notes.

I made some great connections and even found a fellow life coach that lives in Asheville, too!
Small, small world.

However, with all of the goodness, I noticed some bad.

I really thought that all life coaches were created equal.
If you are drawn to be a life coach,
you are a certain type of person.

I though all life coaches are compassionate people
that have a deep yearning to help others
be their best self.

Well - I found out that is not true.

There are some life coaches out there that,
in my opinion, have no business calling themselves a life coach.

After the rude awakening that
not all life coaches are created equal,
I came up with this list.

And yes, I know we are not perfect.
We all have strengths. We all have weaknesses.
If you are weak in any of these areas,
and you are a life coach,
please work on yourself before you work with clients.

4 Valuable Traits That Make Up An
Amazing-Really-Good-Kick-Ass Life Coach

1 - Be well.
Be healthy in body, mind, and spirit.

During one of the workshops, the speaker had me
read an inspirational quote.
Afterwards, she handed me something for helping out.
"How sweet", I thought.
Then I looked down and saw she had given me
a $10 gift certificate to Burger King.
"Are you fuckin kidding?", my next thought.

You are a life coach. You are supposed to be an example.
You are supposed to lead people to be healthy inside and out.
Even if you are not a nutrition coach,
you should know that eating Burger King is terrible.
I would NEVER give anyone a gift certificate to
a fast food restaurant.
I would have much rather her give me a hug and a genuine smile than give me a Burger King gift certificate.

2  - Do not speak ill of others.
Do not gossip. Do not put others down.

Life coaches are meant to build people up.

One of my new life coaching friends overheard another coach say, "I just don't relate to all of the Barbie dolls in the group."

A true coach is non judgmental and
would not say something like that.
In the group were several beautiful blonde slender women. Obviously, that particular coach has some jealousy issues.

Work on your shit before you take on clients.

A true coach is not jealous of others.
A true coach is confident in their own skin.
A true coach sees the beauty in everyone they meet.

3 - No sob story of self, showing pity,
and poor me syndrome.
We all have our story to share.
The point is to share your story briefly,
allowing personal connection,
and telling the audience how you are transformed from the experience.

If you stay in your poor me story during your whole workshop you are presenting and when you meet people you still talk about it -
here is a clue -
you aren't over it.
You haven't transformed.
You haven't done your work.

A true coach has done the work.
People will want to work with them because they see the coach pulled through as a transformed person.

4 - Listen.
Just listen. Do not talk over people. Ask questions. Be engaging.
Share when it's important and relevant

A true life coach is compassionate and
wants to know your story.
They want to get to know you, what you are passionate about,
what makes you alive.

So-whether you are seeking a coach or are a coach I feel these traits make up an amazing-really-good-kick-ass life coach.
An amazing life coach is constantly working on themselves through yoga, meditation, tapping, and constantly clearing their own negativity and blocks

Be amazing.

~Amy

Tapping Tuesdays-Tapping on the person that drives you crazy.

Welcome to Tapping Tuesdays!

As positive and happy as we are,
we still come across "THAT ONE PERSON".

You know who I'm talking about.

That one person that somehow
gets under your skin and drives you complete crazy.

It could be a family member, a roommate,
a co-worker, or your boss.

It creates unwanted baggage.

Usually, I would say,
"Cut that person loose! You don't need that negativity in your life!"

BUT -
if it is family or work related, that isn't easy to do.

Sometimes you are stuck with them temporarily.

HUGE SIGH.

So how do you deal?
You can't go on letting them spoil your day.

Today, we are going to shift our focus with
a few minutes of tapping.

Tapping is perfect for clearing these frustrations.

So-let's get rid of this annoying person-energetically at least.

Find a place where you can take a few minutes.
I used to hide in the bathroom at work and
tap about my horrible boss.

Follow along with my video.
Change the script to fit your personal challenging individual.

Let it all out! and let it all go!

Benefits of Tapping - EFT

What if I told you there a technique that is simple and easy, will help you relieve stress, control food cravings, and give you the strength you need to deal with day to day life?

You'd probably say I was crazy.

I'm okay with that.

Tapping, also called Emotional Freedom Technique, combines psychology with Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Here are 5 Benefits to Tapping

1. It's fast to learn and fast to implement.
2. It quickly improves the quality of life.
3. It removes obstacles at the core.
4. It creates profound shifts in one's life.
5. It is a self applied tool.

I've been tapping on a regular basis since late spring.
I'm constantly amazed at how it changes my life for the better.

I started combining tapping with life coaching sessions and
the results are profound.

"The tapping is helping me. Such a simple concept....taking time out for myself and speaking loving words to what I call the gremlins that hold my issues. It's amazing the feeling I have now towards myself." ~ Michelle Hill

I want everyone to learn how to tap!

I'm offering a life coaching/tapping combo session
in person or
via Skype or Google Hangout for $50.

I Heart Herbs ~ Stinging Nettle

*Please note - The information provided is collected from my various herbal books, classes, and personal research. I am not a doctor. Always, always, always consult your physician or qualified healthcare provider before beginning any new treatment. Do your own research and think for yourself. Don't believe everything you read. Questions are good!

Stinging Nettle

Latin Name: Urtica dioica

Plant Family: Urticaceae

Character: astringent, slight bitter taste, cool, dry

Constituents: vitamins A, B, C, histamine, formic acid, serotonin, tannins, potassium, iron, sodium, calcium, formic acid, mucilage, mineral salts

Actions: astringent, diuretic, nutritive, lowers blood sugar levels, promotes milk flow, stops bleeding, circulatory stimulant

Parts used: aerial parts, root

Harvest while flowering. Harvest the root in the fall.

Stinging Nettle has a high vitamin C content and it helps ensure that iron is properly absorbed by the body.

Nettle stings because of histamine and formic acid in the hairs that trigger the familiar allergic response.

Stinging Nettle Knowledge

Caesar's troops introduced the Roman nettle into Britain believing they needed to flail themselves with nettles to keep warm.

A standard folk remedy for arthritis and rheumatism is urtication, beating with nettles.

Nettle root is traditionally used to treat hair loss and dandruff.

Drink the infusion as a tonic and for allergies. It's super yummy.

As far as drinking nettle, you can also make nettle lemonade and even nettle beer.

Use the tincture for arthritic conditions, heavy uterine bleeding, and skin issues.

Make a compress by soaking a pad in the tincture and apply to painful arthritic joints, sprains, tendinitis, gout, and sciatica.

Apply the nettle ointment to hemorrhoids.

The wash is good to apply to insect bites, burns, and wounds.

The powdered leaves can be used as an herbal snuff for nosebleeds.

Eating Nettle?

Yup. I like to throw stinging nettle in a stir fry of mushrooms and garlic. Once cooked down, it loses its sting, so don't worry about hurting your tongue and throat. Nettle is also very mineral rich, I love to add it in bone broths and soups. Nettle also makes a yummy addition to lasagnas and pesto.

Many herbalists tap in to the spiritual and
emotional properties of plants.
The spirit of the plant is just as important as
the physical part of the plant.
For true health is whole, and
wholeness encompasses all,
spirit and matter.

"Stinging Nettle" by Liselotte Eriksson

Spiritual & Emotional Properties of Nettle

  • Energetically the action of Stinging Nettle is deep.
  • The nettle plant helps to heal the energy around bitterness and scorn.
  • Stinging Nettle is a great elixir to ease any type of emotional pain experienced in the present.
  • It helps bring one out of a state of selfishness.
  • Nettle helps with possessive, obsessive, and controlling people.
  • Stinging Nettle can bring about a change of heart in a person.

Nettles Plant Spirit Prayer
from "Plant Spirit Journey" by Laura Silvana

"O loving kindness, drench the fires of our bitterness and scorn. Weep not, for the ills of the human heart can only be appeased by your unbounded, gracious love."

Nettle is excellent for grounding and aligns your source of power with that of Divine Right.
