Gratitude & Thanks (Monthly Flying Sisters Blog Circle)

"The more grateful you are, the more you get to be grateful about. It's that simple." ~Louise L. Hay

Today is a traditional day for people to share their thanks,
however, I encourage you to practice gratitude
every single day.

As I was writing this post in my head, I was thinking how practicing gratitude every day allows us to

be open to all of the abundance in our life.

I then go into my Deepak and Oprah meditation for the day
and Deepak says,
"Gratitude is the gateway to abundance."

It truly is.

Off the top of my head here is my current
list of things I am thankful for-

the air I breathe
the love in my life
knowledge
creativity
intuition
inspiration
writing
words
 the internet
meditation
morning pages
Julia Cameron, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay
heat
my home
my boyfriend
my friends
my family
my car
my job
my clothes
my many pairs of boots
my own craft room
the beauty of being alive

From Day # 14 of Desire and Destiny Meditation
with Oprah & Deepak

Mindful Moment

Set the intention to greet each moment of the day in gratitude. As each encounter and situation crosses your path take time to pay attention to all of the things that you can be grateful for in the moment. May you cultivate the spirit of gratitude with effortless ease and enthusiasm, for as you do so you transform your world.

"Each day begins with a prayer of “Thank you,” which are the first words out of my mouth as I awaken."

Enjoy today with your loved ones and ponder the question...

What are you thankful for today?

I leave you with Alanis Morissette's "Thank You."

Blogalong with Effy Wild

I absolutely love to blog.
I really, really do.
I started the year kicking ass. Seriously.

Then I moved.

Everything stopped.
Everything.

I've been searching for my new rhythm...
I so want to get back into blogging on a regular basis.

So, as the Universe would have it - I found a blogalong.

Effy Wild is inspiring me to blog for 30 days
 with her blogalong.
Sometimes we just need a push.
Sometimes we need a community to get shit done.
So tomorrow begins the
"Thirty Posts in Thirty Days" with Effy Wild.

I am ready.

Let's do this.

It is time to blossom. (Blog Circle)

Spring is in the air!
Yesterday was the first day of Spring, Ostara.

It's my 2nd favorite Holiday...the first being Halloween, of course.

I love Spring.
I love to watch things come back to life.
The flowers bloom, the birds sing, and the garden grows.

It's the waxing time of the year...
time to set things in motion.

It is time to blossom.

Every Ostara I write an intention letter to myself.
I fill it will my hopes, dreams, and goals for the year.
I open last year's letter, see where I stand, reflect, and
then I write my new letter for the year.

I have found that this is the perfect time for me to
implement any big changes in my life.

It's a great time to plant the seeds you wish to grow.

I began 2013 with 2 major goals for the year,
a year of transformation for me.

The first big goal is becoming a life coach,
the other big deal is moving to a bigger home with Chris.

I'm so freakin thrilled to report both of these are happening.

I completed my life coach training and I am officially a life coach.

Chris and I found a new home and
began the fun of painting last night.

With the "big" part of these goals done...
it is time to plant the seeds of growth.

I'm so looking forward to nesting and getting
all settled in the new place.

I'll have my own craft room/office.

This is major.

With my own space, I'll be able to really work on
getting "The Magick Muse" to soar.

**************************
What do you wish to plant this year?

What growth should you seek in your life?

Where will you blossom?

 Ostara is the time.

All You Need is Love (Blog Circle)

http://segredosdepandora.wordpress.com/tag/heart/
Warning: Somewhat personal, somewhat sappy blog post today.
This is part of the Fly Girl's Blog Circle every 3rd Thursday of the month.
This month our theme is Love.
Let me tell you as much as I now love love...this was super hard for me.
'Cause for me with love comes heartbreak...ouch.

I was never the cutesy girl drawing hearts and falling head over heels in love. I pretty much hated all things hearts. I'd wear black on Valentine's Day and if anyone said, "Happy Valentine's Day" to me, I would respond, "What's so fuckin' happy about it?"

I've always been independent. I've always loved being alone.
 I absolutely love being single.
Plus I've had my share of heartbreak.

In 2002 I decided to start working on my heart chakra. I filled my apartment with rose quartz crystals and love goddess statues. I attended a heart chakra class and I was the only one there!
Talk about NEEDING some help.
That class was just for me.
From that class I was introduced to Louise Hay's fabulous book,
"You Can Heal Your Life".

Now I wasn't all opposed to love just to let you know.
I had my share of love...love for my family...
love for my friends...love for hobbies...
love for movies....for life...for myself.

I just didn't think anyone was worthy of romantic love from me. All relationships end somehow. Why put myself through all that shit? The more you love someone, the more it hurts when they are gone.

I was perfectly happy alone. I found I enjoyed having a "friend with benefits" rather than a boyfriend. So much easier.

I did continue working on my heart. I continued healing.
But I was never truly serious about anyone.

I made a list of all of the traits I would want my imaginary significant other to be like. Kind of like in "Practical Magic". If I make this person up, they probably don't exist, therefore I will never fall in love and never get hurt.

With my list and my heart healing I did feel I was ready if I ever found that imaginary person. They had to be absolutely wonderful for me to even consider a relationship.

I moved to Asheville on May 1, 2009 completely by myself.
After months of being here, I was so ready to find a new
 "friend with benefits".

On December 1, 2009 I went out downtown with my friend to an AIDS benefit. We were checking out a band she had heard about. I was sitting there sipping my beer when I noticed a dude across the room. My first thought was, "I'd do him."

He then came over to us! I was like ohhh....could he read my mind? He was manning the door that night and chatted us up most of the evening. He was an utter delight to speak with.

At that time my Friday night ritual was to take myself out after work...I usually went to Jack of the Wood and finished off at The French Broad Chocolate Lounge. I invited Chris out with me. To my surprise he showed up at Jack of the Wood as I was sitting there eating my burger, drinking my beer, and pen in my journal. He was wearing a tie and the biggest grin.

Through the course of the evening, I was discovering I really dig this guy. He will be a perfect "friend with benefits".

So let's just say I tried that...he wasn't having it.
And I caved. I tried to stop it, but I couldn't.
We fell in love.
It happened so fast.

And I kept waiting for that "OH NO" moment.
The moment where I know this just won't work out.
The moment I plan my grand exit.
The moment where I know I don't want to be with him.

That moment still hasn't arrived. Over 3 years later he is still an incredible guy for me. He knows me better than I know myself.

Chris has opened me up to true love
and I am completely happy with it.
My heart chakra has never felt such utter joy.

I sometimes ask him, "Who sent you?"
I think the gods and goddesses delivered me a present.

Beginnings (Blog Hop)

2013 A Year of New Beginnings
New Beginnings

Theme: New Beginnings, part of a Blog Circle Hop...

Here we are.
2013.
Another year is upon us.

This is a year of transformation for me,
a year of new beginnings.

It seems like every few years I have a huge transition.
Things change. I continue to grow.

My last big year was 2009.
2009 was amazing and life changing.

  • I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Alternative Medicine from Everglades University.
  • I quit The Golf Channel after being there for 10 years.
  • I moved myself and all of my belongs alone to Asheville, NC to pursue the next big step.
  • I met Chris that December.

Between now and then,
it has been a series of frustrations, growth, and new awareness.

2012 was a year of getting back on track
and I'm ready to roar with 2013.

This is a year of transformation for me...
a year of new beginnings...

  1. "The Artist's Way" book club is opening up so much creativity and inspiration for me. The author, Julia Cameron, has introduced me to morning pages. I now don't know how I ever survived without doing morning pages. They are the first thing you do in the morning. So, I grab my tea (another new beginning, saving coffee for the weekend...don't have a heart attack...I'm doing okay with this.) and I write whatever comes to mind for 3 pages. Dumping out all of these thoughts creates room for the really important stuff. It's a brilliant therapy method. I plan on doing this every single day.
  2. Life Book 2013 is a huge beginning for me in the realm of painting and drawing. I absolutely love to paint and I'm open to techniques and cool ideas. However, I have to admit I am nervous about the drawing aspect. I want to draw. I want to be able to, but I have no clue how! I've always felt my brother, Lucas got that gene and it skipped me. I'm going to give drawing a try. Wait! I'm going to do. Do or do not, there is no try. ~Yoda
  3. 2013 will be a new beginning in a new home. By April 1, Chris and I will be moved to a bigger home. This will give us our own personal space. We'll have our own washer and dryer. I'll have a craft room. Home will really be a nice place to be, a sanctuary. I'm so looking forward to it.
  4. I will become a successful Life Coach. After my training in February, I will be certified. I can then accept clients. I will start to transition this year out of my day job and into working independently. By the end of the year, I will be working on my own.

I have dreamed. I have plotted. I have created a vision board.

Now it is time for it all to happen.
Now is the time for it to come to fruition.

This year is the beginning of stability, love, connections, creativity, and continuous inspiration.
