Oracle of the Week ~ Faery Laiste, Moon's Daughter

Laiste, Moon's Daughter

Light cast in shadows. Spiritual guidance.

Illumination.

Riddles.

Laiste wants us to be open to the great unknown, to mystical experiences that teach us an expanded way to relate to the multiverse, all of the worlds and dimensions together.

Laiste hopes you will reach for your higher self, your not-yet-realized cosmic wisdom.

You know far more than you know you know.

Laiste reaches into our deepest minds, opening long-shut doors, illuminating and revealing the uncultivated ground of our being - our hidden senses and talents.

Through revelation and the ecstatic experience of the mystic, Laiste faces and leads us into the future.

She prefers to let the old stuff of the past fade away in the illumination of insight and newly accessed wisdom.

Trust your hunches.

Trust your intuition.

Pay attention to your dreams, they may forelight the future and illuminate the present.

Pay attention to symbols.
Faeries often speak to us in the language of symbols, because words are so limited.

It's My Birthday!

It's my Birthday!

Today at 6:35pm central time I turn officially 38 years old.

38.

3-8.

38.

Only 2 years left of the dirty thirties.

Time just keeps getting faster and faster,
however I still feel like I'm in my twenties.

38. Sounds kind of strange.

38. Sounds kind of sophisticated.

I'm gonna go with sophisticated.

Aquarian women hold strong tendencies toward, and tend to become involved with technology and communication.

They carry within themselves an important sense of mission and want to be able to get their message out to as many people as possible.

Aquarius Woman

January 21 - February 19

Symbol: The Water Bearer

Slogan: I know, therefore am

Aquarius is the most unpredictable sign of the zodiac.

Aquarius is a fixed, airy sign.

This means that these are girls are very rational by nature and exceedingly firm in their opinions.

Aquarius women are referred to as the “heavenly bohemians,” because they seem to have their own rules and regulations as to their conduct and they completely reject others telling them what to do.

Happy Birthday Madre

Today is my Mom's Birthday.

January 28.

Mom
Madre
Darlene
Marlena (her evil twin name)

Tomorrow is my Birthday...
an Aquarian woman giving birth to an Aquarian woman...incredible.

Some things I've always appreciated about my Mom.

Mom has always said I can do whatever I want and I've always believed her.

Mom would give me chocolate mousse pie for breakfast.

Mom took me to see hair band concerts.
We delighted in the beauty of Bret Michaels, Sebastian Bach, Kip Winger, and many more.

Good times.

Happy Birthday, Madre!

Wishing you a magical day!

I love you.

Let's celebrate Darlene!
Have chocolate cake for breakfast and rock out to some hair bands.

Bone Broth

Bone Broth

Ewwwww?

No, man. It's freakin' delish and super duper good for you.

You want nourishment?
Make your own bone broth.

How do you make a bone broth you ask?

First you need to...
become a bone collector.

Any bones will do. When you are preparing chicken, save those bones. Any type of bones, seriously.

Ever pick up a fantastic organic rotisserie chicken from the store?

Save those bones.

Save all bones.

DO NOT THROW THEM OUT.

Store them in the freezer.

Once you have collected enough, you can make a bone broth.

I hear that chicken feet is especially good for bone broths, but I haven't tried them just yet.

To get started, I roast the bones, around 300-325.

After roasting I place the bones in a bag and crush with a hammer.
This is my favorite part...other than drinking the completed broth.

CRUSH AWAY!

Get a big ol' pot.

Add the crushed bones to the big ol' pot.

Cover with water.

Add apple cider vinegar.

Bring to a boil.

Bring down to a simmer.

Add vegetables and herb goodness of choice.

I like to add celery, carrots, onions, and garlic.

My favorite herb to add is
stinging nettle
This makes it
extra nourishing and so yummy.

(If you want to learn more about stinging nettle,
click here to read my blog.)

Let it simmer for as long as you can.

I like to start in the morning and let it simmer until dark.
It warms up the home and smells cozy and inviting.

When you feel it has simmered enough...time to strain it.

Strain and use.

You can drink it. You can make soups with it. You can use it as a base for cooking rice and couscous.
You can freeze it and use it later.

Get creative and get healthy.

It really helps my allergies and my asthma.
When I drink it, I can feel it nourishing my soul.

I feel instantly healthier.

Balance? How?

Does anyone else find it difficult to juggle everything in life?

Seriously.

How do I

work
sleep
write
create jewelry
keep up with the house
stay on top of my budget
go for walks
take care of my body
make candles
hang out with my friends
spend time with Chris
have Amy time
have a garden
harvest the garden
research herbs and make medicine
knit
read books
watch movies
journal
explore mountains
go for hikes
connect with the Divine

and not go completely bonkers?

Do I have too many hobbies?

There is so much to learn, so much to do in life, how do we find the time?

How do I balance?

Faery Oracle of the Week~Lys of the Shadows

Lys of the Shadows

Healing the shadows.
Addictions.
Bondage.
Self-esteem.

Lys is all about tough love. She is here to help. Lys inspires souls to connect in a healing way. She comes to you when hope seems lost.

"Ultimately Lys is trying to help people develop
true self-respect and self-esteem.

She is the inspiration for the first wobbly steps taken by a damaged soul toward healing."

It is time to crawl out of the depths of despair and into the land of hope.

Day 5 into 2012...how ya doin'?

How are those resolutions going?

Are you living up to the potential of you?

My first resolution this year is joining Cheshire Fitness Club.
I'm making me a priority. I must take care of myself.

I know it's just the beginning, but I feel incredible.
I've been using the treadmill and the sauna...I love it.

I'm curious where I'll be in a few months with this...for now though...
I'm looking forward to it.
I can feel my endorphins rising.
It is great "me" time for right after my work day.

I'm getting:

exercise -that I actually enjoy,
the sauna - which helps my asthma and relaxation,
and time for myself.

Win. Win. Win.

The Darkness

Embrace The Darkness

I have been embracing the Dynamic Darkness of the season.

How can I write about herbs when all is dead?

What can I write about instead?

We are in the waning part of the year and I feel it deep.

Good time for getting rid of things.

I plan on getting rid of my layers.

New Year's Resolutions? I believe so.

The Spirit Dancer and New Year's Resolutions?

Yes. Let's do this.

2009 was a life changing, incredible year.
I graduated from Everglades University with a
Bachelor's of Science in Alternative Medicine.
I quit The Golf Channel after working there for a decade.
I relocated by myself to Asheville, NC.
I went through an informative herbal program.
I met Chris and got an instant boyfriend.

2010 happened and it was difficult.
2011 I kept trying to get back and got nowhere.

Finally, I feel my head is a little above water and I'm not drowning anymore.

With all of my strength and will I plan on getting it back together in 2012.
I was lost. So lost. It's been overwhelming.

I'm ready to embrace a good life.

My life is what I create and I plan on getting it back.

I am an all powerful amazon warrior.
