Ostara~The Spring Equinox

Merry Ostara!

Ostara Affirmation

I am the blossom of Spring and the sweet flower unfolding.

I am the leafy stalk that pushes through the ground to
greet the brightness of the day.

I hold the power of creation in my hands,
as I stand at the threshold between darkness and light.

I am balance and beauty becoming.

Blessed Be.

*************
It's the first day of spring, let's rejoice!

Ostara is my 2nd favorite Holiday...
the first being Halloween, of course.

*************

Ostara Significance: day and night are equal in length with the powers of light increasing, it is the return of life to the world

Magickal Energies: balance, fertility, prosperity

Symbols: colored eggs, seeds, spring flowers, white rabbits

Colors: lavender, light blue, light green, pink, yellow...think pastels

Trees: alder, dogwood

Flowers: lily, tulip

Herbs & Oils: honeysuckle, jasmine, lavender, lemon, lemongrass, orange blossoms, rose, sage, strawberry, violet, ylang ylang

Stones: aventurine, agate, amazonite, clear quartz, rose quartz

Animals: baby chicks, eagle, rabbit

Beverages: berry juices, cream, flower teas, milk

Foods: chocolate, eggs, ham, honey cakes, leafy green vegetables, seasonal fruits, seeds, spring salads, sprouts

*************
Today begins the waxing time of the year -
time to set things in motion.

Every year on Ostara, I write myself an intention letter.

I fill it will my hopes, dreams, and goals for the year.
I open last year's letter, see where I stand,
and then I write my new letter for the year.

I found that this is the perfect time for me if I want to
implement any big changes in my life.

Now is the time to plant the seeds you wish to grow.

What do you wish to plant this year?

What growth would you like to see in your life?

Ostara is the time.

Love Every Day

Here we are.

Valentine's Day is upon us.

I love celebrating holidays -
however I love celebrating life every single day.

On Holidays, I give just a bit extra.

Valentine's Day doesn't have to be all mushy gushy love -
it can be the love you have for your friends,
the love you have for your family,
the love you have for life!

So, I encourage to practice unconditional love.

Embrace love.

Embrace life.

And why only do it one day a year?

Don't wait until Valentine's Day to celebrate LOVE.

Celebrate love every single day.

Tapping Tuesday - Time for Presents

Welcome to I'd That That - Tapping Tuesday!

Tis the season of gift giving!
Yay!

I'm repeating last week's Tapping Tuesday 'cause we are in the full swing of Holiday gift giving.

And with gift giving, comes gift receiving.
For some folks this is an issue.

There is that saying, "It's better to give than to receive."

Well - I call bullshit.

Learning to give and receive is a beautiful lesson.

I love giving people presents.
I love to see their face light up when they open that special something I gifted them.

Realize - it goes both ways.
Someone is giving you a gift because they believe you deserve it!
It gives them pleasure watching you receive.

Let's release any past limited beliefs and
learn to say thank you this Holiday season.

Follow along with the video!

*************
Even though I don't feel like I deserve gifts,
I deeply and completely love myself.

Even though all this gift giving makes me highly uncomfortable,
I deeply and completely love myself.

Even though the thought of opening a present makes me want to run out of the room,
I deeply and completely love myself.

I don't feel worthy.
I don't feel I deserve presents.
I don't know how to accept gifts.
I don't feel I've earned this.
I feel uncomfortable.
It makes me feel greedy.
Others are worthy of abundant gifts.
I enjoy giving them presents.

So why can't I accept them?
I believe I don't deserve it.
I don't like to be put on the spot.
I don't like being a big deal.
This is all just limited beliefs.
We are all worthy of abundance.
We are all worthy of gifts.
Maybe I am worthy.

Maybe I am deserving.
I let go of this fear.
I let go of this limited belief.
I get rid of this belief that I don't deserve gifts.
I deserve health.
I deserve wealth.
I deserve happiness.
I'm worthy of abundance.

I open myself up to giving and receiving gifts.
I learn to receive gracefully.
I say thank you to holiday gifts.
I give and receive gifts with pleasure.
It is my divine right to receive.
Receiving is a blessing to those who want to give to me.
Allowing others to give to me,
allows them to give from their heart.

I feel good receiving.
I say thank you.
I rejoice in my ability
to receive from my heart.
In turn,
I give openly and gracefully.
I embrace this beautiful cycle
tis the season of gift giving and receiving.

Tips for Honoring Earth Day

Did you know the first Earth Day was in 1970?
I hadn't realized it's been going on since then.

How can you make a difference? Super glad you asked.

Here is...
Your Earth Day To Do List

Recycle.

Reuse.

Plant a tree.

Create an herb garden.

Grow your own food.

Carpool.

Ride your bike to work.

Walk.

Hug a tree.

Really, hug a tree!
Treehugging Amy at Joyce Kilmer

Switch out your lightbulbs for compact florescent light bulbs.

Turn off water when not in use.

Turn off lights when not in use.

Unplug all unused appliances in your home.

Unplug that cell phone charger.

Drive the speed limit increasing your miles per gallon.

Save laundry
for big loads, and stop washing small loads.

Shower together!

Use glass containers for leftovers.

Use a glass bottle for water.

Stop using plastic.

Clean up your local park.

Keep cloth grocery bags in your car for when you shop.

Buy locally grown and organic produce at
your local farmer’s markets.

Support your local businesses.

Respect the planet.

One person can make a difference.
Let it be you.

Yule

Yule Wreath 2009
Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, Yule.
It is the longest night of the year.
A few times I've stayed up the entire night to
greet the Sun the next day - honoring the transition -
knowing soon the days will be longer again.

Most of us become more reflective at this time of year -
we start thinking,
"With a new year coming up,
there can be a new beginning."

It's almost like a do over.

I always ask,
"Am I being true to my authentic being?
What would my highest self say?"

I hope that you dare to live your life's calling.

I hope that you are true to yourself.

Apollo, ancient god of the Sun now hear my call,
Bring illumination whether rain or snowflakes fall.
On this the darkest and longest of winter's bleak nights,
I celebrate the return of the Sun's strength and light.
May my own truth shine free for all to see,
And as I will it, then so must it be.

Prayer for Balance
(Just what I needed!)

Now is the moment of Equinox

I stand before the union of light and dark.

The equal journey of Goddess and God

has come to the threshold of balance.

May my mind be in balance.

May my heart be in balance.

May my body be in balance.

May my spirit enfold all that I am in balance.

Now is the moment of the Equinox.

May all things be aligned, within and without.

So mote it be.

Friday The 13th~Muahahahahha

Are you superstitious?

Today, will you walk under a ladder?
Let a black cat cross your path?
Throw salt over your shoulder?
Open an umbrella...INDOORS?

Oh no!
Don't break a mirror!

I've always loved Friday the 13ths - maybe because of the cheesy 80s show - maybe because I like to dance on the edge of the unknown - maybe because
I find 13 to be lucky instead of the normal negativity it gets.

Don't be afraid.

Enjoy your Friday the 13th!

Merry Midsummer

Merry Midsummer!
Midsummer Eve by Edward Robert
Happy Faery Day everyone!

Midsummer, also known as the Summer Solstice is
a special day for faeries.
Some even know the day to be called Feast of the Faeries.

Today marks the longest day of the year,
the height of the sun's power,
and the beginning of the waning half of the year.

The Goddess manifests as Mother Earth and
the God as the Sun King.
