The Juggler - Faerie Card

The Juggler

Scattered Attention ~ Reassessment ~ Priorities

by Brian & Wendy Froud

AHHHHH!

Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
Do you constantly feel you have too much on your plate?

I do too much. You do too much.
We all do too much.

It's the constant battle of juggling work, play, people, bills, laundry, hobbies, sex, food, sleep, etc.

From the book:

When you meet The Juggler, just slow down and
take a look at where you're going.

You may be doing lots of things at the same time - and
you may be very good at all of them - but
just be sure you can see
where you are going with these projects.

Perhaps you are balancing the attention of
too many people at the same time.

If you scatter your thoughts and attentions wherever you go,
you may end up running in circles and
not giving anything or
anyone the attention they deserve.

The Juggler is a great reminder for us to stop what we are doing, take a deep breath, regroup, and move forward with focused energy.

Oracle of the Week~Faery~Unity

Unity

Words by Jessica Macbeth

Union. Mystical experience. Spiritual home.

"Remember the mystical concept that we are all one,
unified in a holistic universe."

**************

My grandma died peacefully in her sleep this past week.
I've been thinking about her a lot.
I've been thinking that life happens.
I've been thinking that death happens.

I pulled this card and at first was like, "What?"

But I see.

One thing death does is bring the living together.

Unity.

We all come together as one.

We all come together with the same common goal.

We all come together to pay honor to
our loved one that has left.

It is a true pleasure journeying back to my hometown,
Metropolis, Illinois and visiting with family and friends
I haven't seen for so long.

Oracle of The Week~Goddess~Kali

Kali
Illustrated by Hrana Janto

Fear

I am the dance of death that is
behind all life
the ultimate horror
the ultimate ecstasy
I am existence
I am the dance of destruction that
will end this world
the timeless void
the formless devouring mouth
I am rebirth
Let me dance you to death
Let me dance you to life
Will you walk through your fears to dance with me?
Will you let me cut off your head
and drink your blood?
then will you cut off mine?
Will you face all the horror
all the pain
all the sorrow
and say "yes"?
I am all that you dread
all that terrifies
I am your fears
will you meet me?

**************************
What are you afraid of?

Are you facing your fears?

Kali is here to tell us that wholeness is nurtured
when you claim the pieces of yourself
that you've given over to fear.

Name and witness your fear.
This gives you power.

Wholeness is created when you learn to
acknowledge your fears and
walk though them.

Oracle of the Week~Goddess~Baba Yaga

Baba Yaga

*Wild Woman*

I walk in the forest
and speak intimately with the animals
I dance barefoot in the rain
without any clothes
I travel on pathways
that I make myself
and in ways that suit me
my instincts are alive and razor sharp
my intuition and sense of smell are keen
I freely express my vitality
my sheer exuberant joyfulness
to please myself
because it is natural
it is what needs to be
I am the wild joyous life force
Come and meet me

Baba Yaga flies into your life to
help you nurture wholeness by
getting in touch with your wild woman.

It is time to reconnect with the natural,
the primal, the instinctual.

It is time to shake out your hair, your body,
and shake up your life!

Free her!

The wild woman inside you is
part of your joy, vitality, and creativity.

Express your wildness!

Oracle of the Week~Goddess~Sphinx

Sphinx
Illustrated by Hrana Janto

Challenge

If I ask the question that provokes

will you stretch to find the answer

Will you take up the gauntlet flung boldly

and defiantly answer the call

Will you meet my challenge

with tingling in your blood

with your hair blowing electric in the wind

with all your being

knowing that every challenge

is an opportunity

every challenge

presents a gift

every challenge

is there to serve you

or not

It's your choice

The Sphinx from Greek mythology appears with
a woman's head and breasts, the wings of an eagle,
a dog's body, lion's paws, and the tail of a serpent.

The Sphinx will not let you pass until
you respond to her challenge.

She asks, "How can you meet a challenge and
prosper in all the aspects of your being?"

You can let yourself get torn down by challenge...
or you can take the challenge and
use its energy to nurture yourself.

The Sphinx says the only way to wholeness
on your path is to
meet your challenges face-to-face.

Oracle of the Week~Plant~Ivy

Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm
Illustrated by Will Worthington

Ivy

Gaelic Name: Eidheann

Botanical Name: Hedera helix

Ivy represents:

Prophecy

Connection

Death

Rebirth

"Ivy has, since classical times, been associated with prophetic intoxication, sought by the Druids particularly for creativity so that their work is inspired by something greater than their own personalities alone."

Ivy is here to tell you inspiration is coming to you.

Still your mind, resolve any conflicts, and let Ivy guide you.

"The best way out is always through."
~ Robert Frost

I love that this card also has the Ogham symbol for Ivy on it. I took an Ogham class back in 2002 and I've always felt a special connection to the ancient language of trees.

In Ogham, the ancient Celtic tree alphabet, Ivy is called Gort.

Gort stands for
prosperity, abundance, and new lessons to be learned.

It is the completion of one phase and
the beginning of something fresh and new.

Color ~ green
Stone ~ aventurine, malachite
Animal ~ cow

Ivy gets us moving towards our goals.

********************************************
I feel this card is highly appropriate for me at this time.
I've been digging in deep with my
Magick Muse business plan.
I'm super excited and pumped to get things going.

Pachamama

"The Goddess Oracle" by Amy Sophia Marashinsky
Illustrated by Hrana Janto.

I sing a song of love
from the stones of my body
from the high peaks of my mountains
from the hot sands of my deserts
I caress you with green leaves
green plants

and feed you from my breast

clothe you
home you
Learn my song
and it will heal you
sing my song and it will whole you
dance with me and you'll be holy

Oracle of the Week~Plant~Yarrow

Yarrow

by Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm
Illustrated by Will Worthington

Gaelic Name: Lus chosgadh na fola
Latin Name: Achillea millefolium

Fidelity * Masculinity * Virility

Yarrow is sacred to the Horned God and all things male.

Look at your relationship to masculinity.

Many of us hold a partly conscious representation in our awareness of a powerful and virile man that we would like to
become or merge with.

You may start to work more consciously with your male side.

Another name for Yarrow is "Seven Years' Love".

People used to make a Yarrow charm that kept
couples loving and faithful for seven years.

Faithfulness to a partner or to certain values or
shared ideas forms the basis of trust.

Sometimes we can take this for granted without
fully examining it.

Values, goals, and boundaries should be assessed and
re-contracted, with the potential for
a renewed sense of purpose and commitment.

Oracle of the Week~Goddess~Lilith

Blog 20 of 30 ~ Effy Wild's Blogalong ~ Thirty Posts in Thirty Days

Lilith

The Goddess Oracle
By Amy Sophia Marashinsky
Illustrated by Hrana Janto

I dance my life for myself

I am whole

I am complete

I say what I mean

and I mean what I say

I dance the dark and the light

the conscious and the unconscious

the sane and the insane

and I speak from myself

authentically

with total conviction

without regard for how I might look

All the parts of myself

flow into the whole

all my divergent selves unite as one

I listen

to what needs to be heard

I never make excuses

I feel my feelings

deeply and profoundly

I never hide

I live my sexuality

to please myself

and pleasure others

I express it as it needs to be expressed

from the core of myself

from the wholeness of my dance

I am female

I am sexual

I am power

I was greatly feared.

******************************

Lilith appears to tell you to take back your power.

******************************

Oh, how I love Lilith!

Lilith pops up now and then in my life -

I feel she never really leaves me.

I feel Lilith is a part of me.

Lilith reminds me of my power - to feel my power -

not fear my power -

I have control.

I feel a surge of "being on top" again.

I take back my power.

I refuse to tone down my awesomeness any longer.

I am Amy. I am powerful.

I let my wings soar.

Oracle of the Week~Faery~The Hero

Blog 13 of 30 ~ Effy Wild's Blogalong ~ Thirty Posts in Thirty Days

The Hero
Strength ~ Courage ~ Unconditional Love

taken from the Heart of Faerie Oracle

The Hero is heroism as a feminine force;
not how we usually think of the word.

We can accept women as heroes, but we bestow male attributes on them to make them fit
our idea of what is heroic:
courage to fight, wisdom to "do the right thing" whatever it takes, and the drive to continue on against the odds.

Xena, an amazing heroine
Now, just for a moment, think of love as a heroic force.

Think of the love of a mother for her children.

Now think on a larger scale.

Think of the love for the earth.

http://jeffsalz.wordpress.com/2011/06/03/sparkly-heart-rocks-and-the-earth-from-space/

Think of love that lets us accept the differences in people
and the beliefs around us.

Think of love that is truly unconditional.

That is heroism.

That is the single thing that truly
overcomes obstacles in our word and in Faerie.

It isn't easy.

It isn't always comfortable,
and it certainly isn't always fun, but it is heroic.

So if you draw this card, be a hero.

Try practicing unconditional love.

Oracle of the Week~Artist's Way Creativity Card

Blog 6 of 30 ~ Effy Wild's Blogalong ~ Thirty Posts in Thirty Days

The Artist's Way Creativity Cards by Julia Cameron
I pulled this card from my Artist's Way Creativity deck and
was speechless.

This is what I want, what I desire.

I crave my own biz, my own schedule,
working with my natural rhythms,
 not against them.

I feel I'm closer to my big dream goal but not quite there yet.

Is this card telling me I'm ready?

Or is the universe just giving me the encouragement I need
to keep working towards that goal,
knowing that what I'm doing 40 hours a week right now
is just temporary...
just a means to an end?

I'm keeping this card out for awhile, keeping it near.
I'm going to read and re-read every sentence.
I will be doing what I'm meant to do - soon -
until then...

What we really want to do is

what we are really meant to do.

When we do what we are meant to do,

money comes to us,

doors open for us,

we feel useful,

and the work we do feels like play to us.
