Asheville. It's not easy.

Asheville is not easy.

Asheville isn't always just Beer City USA, fuckin fabulous food,
trips around the Biltmore, and double rainbows.

Asheville is a tough bitch.

I feel like you have to go through an initiation to see if you are worthy.
It's like a hazing.

Asheville first seduces you. She puts the bug in your ear.

"Come live here." she says.

She plants the seed. She taunts. She flirts. She won't stop.

You fall in love, head over heels.

Oh those mountain views, oh that local beer, oh that truffle at the lounge, ohhhh...

Everyone is smiling. Check out the drum circle. Let's dance.

Asheville woos and coos. You move here. You leave everything and come.

You really have no explanation other than...
"The mountains were calling my name and I had to answer."

So you move. Everything changes.

Asheville doesn't tell you the secrets of survival here.

She doesn't tell you about the vortex of circling energy that never dies.

She doesn't tell you how you won't get paid what you are worth.

She doesn't tell you there are no boundaries here, no rules,
and sometimes no respect.

How does one make it in this hippie town?
How do you put down roots in the most un-grounded mountain town?

Asheville energy never ever dies.

It is a spiral, weaving in and out, the ebb and flow of chaos.

It brings you far up into the sky over the mountains and then lets you go.

Boom. You fall right on your face.

~May 1, 2012 will be my 3 year anniversary here. It has taken a lot of time, but I'm finally feeling more settled. It's been a fight and a struggle, but well worth it. I have true love, a good job, and never ending opportunities for growth.

Thank you Asheville.

Oracle of the Week~Faery The Maiden

The Maiden

First Love ~ Wonder ~ Endless Possibilities

from The Heart of Faerie Oracle
by Brian & Wendy Froud

The Maiden lives in that magic state between girlhood and womanhood.

Everything is possible in that state of being.

Love and romance are The Maiden's lifeblood.
Where she walks romance blossoms.
The honey sweetness of first love is always on her breath.

No matter how old we are, we should always honor The Maiden.

Acknowledge her in our lives and our relationships.

Remember how it felt when you became aware of romantic love.

With time and experience we become jaded.

We forget our young emotions and bury them down deep.

We should remember those emotions every once in awhile.

Take the time to remember how you felt when you first fell in love.

Remember the wonder.

Remember the sense of endless possibility.

*********************************************
I am reminded of the feeling of The Maiden every day with Chris. Every day I love him more. Some days I fall in love with him all over again.

I have never experienced such sweet, pure love until I met him.

This is how I always imagined Love to be like.

I secretly think the faeries sent him to me.

Oracle of the Week~Plant Clover

Clover

From The Druid Plant Oracle
by
Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm

by
Will Worthington

Wisdom ~ Health ~ Good Fortune

Good luck comes to those who find a four-leafed Clover.

You are about to experience good fortune.

The four leaves of a lucky clover represent:
fame, wealth, good health, and a faithful lover.

One or more of these will come to you.

If we can find wisdom as well as health,
then we can bask in good fortune,
regardless of how much money we might have.

Ostara

Ostara

Ostara is my 2nd favorite Holiday...the first being Halloween, of course.

I love Spring. I love to watch things come back to life.
The flowers bloom, the birds sing, and the garden grows.

It's the waxing time of the year...time to set things in motion.

Every Ostara I write a letter to myself.
I fill it will my hopes, dreams, and goals for the year.
I open last year's letter, see where I stand,
and then I write my new letter for the year.

I found that this is the perfect time for me if I want to
make any big changes in my life.

It's a great time to plant the seeds you wish to grow.

What do you wish to plant this year?
What growth should you seek in your life?

Ostara is the time.

Blessings!

Happy Spring!

Oracle of the Week~Faery~The Bodacious Bodach

The Bodacious Bodach

Meddling ~ Tampering ~ Sabotage
"Helpful Fixing" ~ Order

The Bodach means well. He enjoys "fixing" things.
However, it may not be fixed to your liking.

Example: You left a stack of papers on your desk.
No problem, Bodach will file them for you!

Oh, no. Big problem, actually. He filed them on someone else's desk.

Ooops!

He is a meddler...however in his mind he thinks he is doing good.

To keep him away...you need to tidy up your clutter!

ALL of your clutter...physical, mental, and emotional clutter.

Fix it.

This attracts him and he will step into your life and mess it up even more.

Don't leave things in the wrong place.

Do not dangle loose ends.

Tidy up your life and avoid this meddling Bodach.

Oracle of the Week~Faerie~The Queen of Owls

The Queen of Owls

Physical Healing~Wholeness~Wellness

The Queen of Owls is the bright Queen of physical healing.

If the physical body is in pain or unbalanced...
it can become difficult to connect to
anything but that pain or disease.

The Queen of Owls can help you find the inner strength you need
to come through disease into healing and health again.

The pain is real, the disease is real,
but the power to heal is real and within you as well.

Concentrate on her and reconnect with the healing energies of Faerie.

from The Heart of Faerie Oracle
by Brian & Wendy Froud

*************************************************************

This is very fitting for me right now. I've been noticing some strange health issues lately. I'm thinking positive and believe that my time at the gym will help.

It is time for me to heal, from the inside-out.

March Goals

Hello March!

March is one of my favorite months. It means Spring is just around the corner. March means more daylight. March means getting the garden ready. March means warmer weather. March means being outside.

I start to feel rejuvenated.

I feel alive.

What would I like to accomplish this month?

Looking at my resolutions for 2012, I'm doing pretty damn good.

I'm still going to the gym.

I'm going downtown more, experiencing Asheville places I haven't been to,
and going to live shows.

I even got my North Carolina license plate.

I am complete now.
Well, at least I finally have a NC driver's license, license plate, and phone number.

I feel sorry for that chick that has my old Orlando #...
people keep texting her thinking she is me.

So...here I go...what do I wish to accomplish this month?

Get the garden ready.

Craft.

That's it really.
I'm feeling good.
