G is for Gratitude - Pagan Blog Project

"The more grateful you are, the more you get to be grateful about. It's that simple.~Louise L. Hay

Have you ever heard of
the Dutch philosopher Rabbi Baruch Spinoza?

In the 17th century, he was one of the earliest advocates of a daily gratitude practice.

He suggested we ask ourselves the following 3 questions every single day for a month -

1 - Who or what inspired me today?

2 - What brought me happiness today?

3 - What brought me comfort and deep peace today?

Spinoza believed this practice would
help us find more meaning in our lives.

-from "21 Days of Inspiration" with Deepak Chopra

By practicing gratitude daily
our lives can be transformed
on a deep profound level.

I encourage you to practice gratitude
every single day.

So - tell me -
how do you answer these 3 questions today?

Leave your gratitude in the comments.

Thank you fairy much!

"Each day begins with a prayer of “Thank you,”
which are the first words out of my mouth as I awaken."

Make Your Own Herbal Spring Cleaner

Want a natural cleaner that you can make yourself?

I use this thyme and lavender all purpose cleaner for EVERYTHING!

It works for windows, countertops, bathtubs, toilets -
just about anything.
(I've even killed pesky ants with it.)

It is fantastic and super easy to make.

Recipe for Thyme and Lavender All Purpose Cleaner
1 quart of distilled vinegar (natural disinfectant)
1 cup of dried thyme leaves and flowers (antimicrobial)
1 cup of dried lavender flowers (antimicrobial and soothing scent)
1 quart jar

Fill the jar with the thyme and lavender.
Cover with vinegar.
Let it sit for 24 hours.

The vinegar will turn a lovely shade of red from the thyme.
Strain and pour into a spray bottle.

Clean, away!

F is for Faery Garden - Pagan Blog Project

Ember by Ruth Thompson

I love faeries.

I do.

The mystery.

The spirituality.

The lessons.

I've taken faery classes, dressed like a faery almost every Halloween (and every chance I get),  and I consult The Faeries Oracle by Brian Froud on a regular basis.

I think next up, I should create a faery ring/garden.

It's time.

I've been in my house for a year now.

I need to honor the faeries and create a dedicated sacred space.
Midsummer Eve by Edward Robert Hughes
So, how do you create a faery (ring) garden?

Well, here is what I was taught many moons ago
in a new age shop in Orlando, Fl.

On the 6th night of the new moon (special to the faeries),
set up 13 white stones in a circle.

#13 stone is North.

Pour pure, clear water clockwise (deosil)
(stick out your right hand and follow)
around the stones.

Continue going around the circle,
pouring the water and -

chant:
(of course there is a chant)

faeries spirits dance and sing

come ye now to join the faery ring

beings of the noble sidhe

sacred space I grant to thee

All hail to thee
All hail to thee
All hail to thee

Raise the cone of power.

Inside the garden, you can add plants like mexican heather,
wind chimes, bells, crystals -
anything you feel that honors the faery world.

Connect with the faeries with
honest intention and an open heart.

F is for Freya - Pagan Blog Project

Freya
Goddess Oracle
Illustrated by Hrana Janto

Sexuality

There was a time

in the beginning

a time when there was nothing

a time when I danced

my dance of sexuality

the energy of creation

and with that dance

gave it to All as my gift

Sexuality brought union with me

with Goddess

with spiritual ecstasy

Sexuality healed and wholed

regenerated and invigorated

Sexuality wove you into the web of all being

life

for life lives to express itself

Whether it be new life

vitality

rites of pleasure

limitless possibility

whatever you choose

sexuality is life's expressive dance

and its greatest gift

*************

The lusty goddess Freya comes from
the northern Europeans.
Freya did not discriminate in
her choice of lovers.
Oh no.
All Gods were fair game.
When Freya appeared draped in her feathered cloak and
wearing nothing but her magic amber necklace,
none could resist her.

*************

Freya is here to assist you in honoring your sexuality.
It is time to connect with that vital, primal, spiritual, regenerating energy and express it!

It doesn't matter if you have a partner.

It's about being fully present in your body.

Freya is about allowing yourself to feel vibrant,
electric energy in your sex organs.
Use this energy to animate your being.

Forget about not having time.
Forget about not having a partner.
Forget about feeling uncomfortable.

Freya says that when you live your sexuality,
you open to the dynamic energy that flows
through all creation.

Your path to wholeness needs to include all your parts
and your sexuality is an important piece of you.

*************
Yes! Yes! Yes!
What a fabulous goddess.
And what great timing.
I've been reading the book,
"Kinky Sex" by Jessica Howe.
It's just fantastic.
With Freya and the "Kinky Sex" book -
it's the perfect combo to
get the sex organs humming with delight.

What's on your bookshelf right now?

You may know my word for 2014 is Simplify.

It's rather difficult with books.

I'm trying to read one fiction book and one sort of self-help, self-exploration, etc. book.

I find myself currently reading 4 books.
My current reading load.

From Jessica's Pinterest
I'm just on page 18, but I'm super excited about
diving vagina first into this book.
I'm passionate about passion.
I am determined to keep sexy love alive.
I feel good sex is necessary
for a healthy relationship.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph. D.
Women Who Run with the Wolves
I'm still in my Women Who Run with the Wolves book club.
I'm so super thankful for the online group,
or I would never continue this book.
Why?
It's a heavy read.
It's better to read this one with a group of women.
Clarissa weaves wonderful folklore fairy tales and then
has pages and pages and pages of
dissecting the meaning behind them.
She digs deep, straight through your heart, through your memories, through repressed situations.
If you read this book authentically,
you will be left with no secrets for yourself.
It's a true guide to unearthing your own dark past
and letting go.
Let go and become the wild woman you are!
(unless you are a man - then
become the wild man you are!

now I have a launch date for my dream biz.

Mouse Guard Winter 1152
This is my book I'll be reading on my lunch hour this week.
I'm really looking forward to it.
It's for all ages, a beautiful drawn graphic novel of
an entire mouse world.
Mice with swords.
Well done.

E is for Early - Pagan Blog Project

Good morning darlings!

I wasn't always a fan of morning.

No way.

Some days I still feel it's the worst part of the day.

However, I have found how I can
be in love with morning.

Are you ready for my secret?

I get up early.

I embrace the morning time.

What? But - but - what about sleeping?
What about being all cozy wrapped up in flannel sheets?

Well - I have found that during the work week -
if I get up early -
I am happier.

I am more productive.

I am working Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm at
my bridge job.
Transitional job.
Not my dream job.

So when do I work on manifesting my dream job?

In the morning.

I got sick of getting up at 7:20am, flying through the house like a mad woman, chugging coffee, glaring, getting to work and having to talk to people all day long.
All day while I daydreamed of
everything I was going to to that night -
"I'm going to write some blogs, develop a biz plan,
brainstorm what I want on my website,
make some jewelry, etc."

I get home and nothing.

I'm exhausted after my job.
It zaps my brain, especially the creative parts.

So through trial and error,
I have discovered my magic morning time.

The magic time of awakening for me is
4:25am.

Truth.

When I get up at 4:25am,
all is right with the world.

I get up and do my morning pages first thing.

I follow up with some sort of spiritual reading that
I carry though to my meditation.

I grab my coffee and go through my emails, facebook, and
any social media.

After, I have one full hour to work on whatever I want.

I can write blogs, I can network online,
I can do business homework.

I love it.

When I get to work I feel accomplished and productive.

After work I get to relax.

No pressure.

No more feeling bad for what I didn't get to do last night.

No more blaming my job for not getting anything done.

Getting up early.

Who knew?

Well - I know now.

And I love it.
Good morning!

Taking Care of Business

Can you believe it's been a whole year since
I got my life coach certificate?

Where does the time go?

I've spent the last year researching the shit out of business details and brainstorming what I want to do with my talents.

I've had guinea pig clients and I have to say when I coach,
it's as natural as breathing.

I was born for coaching.

I've done my research and now
it's time to implement my knowledge.

A couple of things I really need to get going -
my website and a business plan.

A real plan. I have plans. I have notebooks full of plans.
I have huge ideas in my brain.

I just have to get it all in order.
I need to flesh it out.

I believe everything happens as it should.

When it's the right time, it is the right time.

Last year I purchased
"The Right-Brain Business Plan" by Jennifer Lee.

Find it on Amazon

I started the book a couple of times
but became distracted with other things.

At the beginning of February I stumbled across an email
talking about the online business course for
The Right Brain Business Plan.

Are you serious?
YES!
Sign me up, please.

One thing I've really learned about myself this past year is
I need a class.

I need accountability.

I'm having the best time going through this book
with other creative biz ladies.

I love how it's all of the traditional business plan
information, but with flair.

I absolutely love the artist side of it,
I love creating visuals for my plan.

I can dump it all out on paper,
but when I create an actual visual
my vision becomes clear.

I believe the more you put into something,
the more you get out of it.

So - if you really want to manifest your desires -
write it out, talk it out, create visuals -
see your vision.

Be your vision.

One of the first projects is the
Big Vision Collage.

I did mine as the front and back of my business binder,
so I may always see it.
My Big Vision Collage Front

My Big Vision Collage Back

This class has given me the focus and drive
to keep going.
Every day I'm closer and closer to my dream.
