I'm hosting a book club.

Seriously.

I started the book at the end of May and
immediately began tapping every day.

I've tapped on food cravings. I've tapped on overwhelm.
I've tapped on feeling beautiful and sexy again.

This book is a must read and do for all women.

It's not just about weight, it's really about body confidence.
It's about self confidence, truly believing in yourself and
feeling 100% comfortable in your own skin.

When you reach that point, that's when changes happen.
That's when you begin to make better choices,
not because you have to, but because you want to.

You start eating better, you start a yoga routine, you start walking, you start taking care of yourself.

When you love yourself inside and out,
you want to treat yourself well.

This book helps tear down all the obstacles
we've acquired through the years.
There are tapping scripts throughout the book for a variety of issues from negative self talk to emotional food cravings.

Since reading Jessica's book, I've lost 15 inches of myself.
I've started doing yoga in the mornings.
I'm eating less and loving life more.

I'm so excited about these shifts in my life.
I decided to start an online book club.
It starts August 25 with a private facebook group.
The club is free and limited to 20 active and willing participants.

The group will provide a safe place to speak freely,
sharing our journey for body confidence.

Interested? Email me at themagickmuse@gmail.com.

Note: August 25, 2014
***The book club is closed. If interested email me and I'll let you know of any future book clubs and/or classes.***

O is for Ortners - Pagan Blog Project

I've been talking about tapping a lot lately.

I've been practicing it on a regular basis
for a couple of months.
Tap Tap Tap
I had heard of it before, but didn't really look into it.

A few months ago I came across a tapping video
with Nick Ortner.

At the time I had hurt my side pretty bad.

I thought "What have I got to lose?"

So sitting in the privacy of my own room,
I followed his video, tapping on the pain in my side.

Afterwards, I felt better.

How could that be?

I rewatched the video, writing down word for word
his tapping script.

I did the tapping a few more times, followed by
the next day and the next day.

The pain subsided.

I was completely blown away.

I started to dig deeper into emotional freedom technique.

That's when I came across Nick's sister, Jessica Ortner.

She was just releasing a book, "The Tapping Solution for Weight Loss & Body Confidence: A Woman's Guide to Stressing Less, Weighing Less, and Loving More".

I got the book and my life has changed.

I keep tapping.
I keep studying.

Now I am teaching others how to tap.

And I owe it all to the Ortners for opening my eyes and
my energy to an incredible and easy modality.

Watching any video with them,

you can see they are genuine souls.

I have felt a permanent shift
in certain areas of my life since tapping.

Thank you Nick Ortner.

Thank you Jessica Ortner.

Thank you both for doing what you do and
changing so many people's lives.

I know my life is now changed and
I plan on sharing this amazing and easy technique
with everyone I know.

Wanna tap with me?

Blessings!

I Heart Herbs ~ Petunia

*Please note - The information provided is collected from my various herbal books, classes, and personal research. I am not a doctor. Always, always, always consult your physician or qualified healthcare provider before beginning any new treatment. Do your own research and think for yourself. Don't believe everything you read. Questions are good!

From My Garden
Petunia

Latin NamePetunia x. hybrida

Plant Family: Solanaceae

Petunia is charming.

*Petunia's Flower Essence*
Petunia whispers "Your presence soothes me."

The essence of petunia works primarily on the heart chakra, activating and energizing the heart.

From My Garden

The heart meridian is rebalanced where there is insecurity related to new experiences that break
or re-define old boundaries.

Petunia helps release suppressed feelings smoothly,
increasing peacefulness.

It helps one move forward, releasing the past and bringing one into the present.

Petunia is the flower essence for the dreamer
and for seeing those dreams come true.

Petunia essence brings a deep insight

into finer levels of spiritual states.

It brings an inner knowing of anything is possible and
there are no limitations to what we can do.

Magick Coaching Packages

Hi there beautiful souls.

I've been in total brainstorm mode with coaching packages.

Spending moments in solitude and reflection,
I asked,
"How can I help folks?
What do people need?
How may I use my gifts?"

From there I felt compelled to
toss out the "normal" coaching packages.

I have to say when I'm looking for a coach and I see
the traditional packages of

N is for No- Pagan Blog Project

N is for No.

No.

Say it.

No.

It feels good.

Are you going to the party Saturday night?
No.

Are you going to write that paper for me?
No.

No.

You don't have to explain yourself.
You are allowed to just say no.

Rebel a little.

Go against the grain.

Never feel obligated.

Never feel like you have to do something this way or that way
because that's how everyone does it.

What will you say no to this week?
I'm doing some rebellion of my own this week.

In coaching school you learn about packages.
Everyone loves a good package, right?
Heh.

Anyway - you learn what basic coaching prices are and
how packages are priced.
Then you are bombarded by classes, seminars, etc telling you to
RAISE YOUR PRICES!!!

I get that.
I get the more experienced you are, the longer you've been around, the more known you are -
you will eventually raise your prices.

Well - right now I'm gonna go with what I feel.
I'm going to rebel and get rid of my
"regular coaching packages".

Why? I think it's overwhelming.
If I was looking for a coach, I wouldn't know yet if I needed 3 months or 10 sessions or exactly what my needs are.

I'm cutting out the bullshit.
I'm saying no.

I'm now offering 3 packages that are all a monthly deal
and in my opinion, a steal.

I Heart Herbs - Holy Basil

*Please note - The information provided is collected from my various herbal books, classes, and personal research. I am not a doctor. Always, always, always consult your physician or qualified healthcare provider before beginning any new treatment. Do your own research and think for yourself. Don't believe everything you read. Holy Basil in my garden.

Holy Basil~Tulsi

Latin Name: Ocimum sanctum

It is given the Sanskrit name "tulsi"
which means incomparable.

Plant Family: Lamiaceae-the mint family

Parts Used: the whole plant

Actions: adaptogen, anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral, carminative, diuretic, expectorant, galactagogue

Take as a delicous tea, tincture, capsules,
or you can even eat the fresh herb.

In India, holy basil is worshipped as a deity.

This Ayurvedic herb is uplifting and good for the spirit.

Holy basil is one of India’s most powerful herbs.

Benefits of Holy Basil

It is an incredible adaptogen, an herb that helps us adapt to stress.

Holy basil enhances cerebral circulation and memory.

Holy basil helps repair cells over time and protects against environmental damage.

David Winston, herbalist, uses holy basil to treat people with allergic rhinitis and allergies to animal dander and mold. He says it can reduce the symptoms of hay fever and allergic asthma when combined with reishi and a solid extract from blueberries.

It can be used as a natural antiseptic due to the compound eugenol, found in the essential oil.

Holy basil kills bacteria, reduces inflammation, and can be used as an insect repellant.

It is an effective treatment for snake bites.

It is also used to treat many skin conditions as well as coughs, bronchitis and diabetes.

One of my herb teachers taught us that holy basil is a long term life insurance policy.

Holy Basil on a deeper level

Holy basil represents harmony, happiness, purity, serenity, luck, and good health.

Holy basil calms and brings goodness and joy to your being.

Holy basil nourishes us to perfect health and enlightenment.

Daily use of holy basil helps maintain the balance of our chakras, the energy centers of the body.

In the Puranas, a sacred Hindu text, everything associated with the plant is holy.

Because of the spiritual significance of this plant, its roots have been used to carve Hindu sacred rosary beads. They are used in meditation to give clarity and protection.

It is a purifier of body, mind, and spirit.

You can find a holy basil plant in almost any Hindu home.

Many Indian women begin the day by offering blessed water to the plant. They walk around it and pray before it, to promote well-being and encourage the grace of the goddess as a living presence in the home.

Invite holy basil into your life,
only good things can come of it.

Elizabeth Gilbert Inspiration

I love Malaprop's bookstore.

It was the first place I sat foot in on my first trip to Asheville.

My first thought was, "I am home."

I love Malaprop's for numerous reasons,
one being their Rocket Surgery latte.

Another is the brilliant authors they present.

When I saw Elizabeth Gilbert was coming to town,
I jumped at the opportunity to see her speak.

My intuition told me this would be a good one.

My intuition did not let me down.

She is utterly brilliant.
Honest and genuine with a slight mischievous streak.
This is my kind of woman.

She was here promoting her latest book,

The Signature of All Things: A Novel

I admit I was not initially drawn to the book.
However, I'm drawn to Elizabeth Gilbert, and
since I was going to see her, I started to read it.

I am loving the book.
I'm only about halfway through, but
this book is so much better than I expected.

I don't know what I expected.
I certainly didn't expect to read about a
16 year old girl into botany that would
disappear into her binding closet to masturbate.

For me, that's when I really got into the book.

I think I need a binding closet.

When I met her, I had to ask, "So - did you have your very own binding closet as a young girl?"
She laughed and said "Didn't we all?"

So yeah, I got to talk to her about masturbation,
which makes me smile.
Me and Elizabeth Gilbert
During the Q & A, someone asked her about her
spiritual practice and meditation.
She mentioned she just started getting back into meditating
after taking a bit of a break.
9 years to be exact.

Everyone laughs.

She went on, talking about her writing. When you see Elizabeth Gilbert talk about writing, well, it's a transformative experience. Here is a woman that knows her deepest passion, writing.

At some point she was like, "Maybe I should stop trying to meditate and just write."

Writing is clearly Elizabeth's meditation.

I'm a spiritual person.
It is part of me, who I am.
Sometimes I overdo it though.
I overdo the spiritual practice,
which doesn't make it quite so spiritual anymore.

Rising in the wee hours of the morning before the sunrise, I have meditated, read spiritual books, drawn oracle cards,
sat with myself, talked to the Universe,
written my morning pages, and done yoga.

The thing is -
I'm unable to do all of these things every single morning.
It's too much. It's overkill.
It becomes frustrating.

"Okay, morning pages done. Now let me read something deep and life changing. Okay. Now for an affirmation. Now for meditating. Should I meditate on my chakras or that affirmation I just read? What was that affirmation I just read?"

When did spirituality get so damn complicated?

This isn't right.

All of these practices serve their purpose,
but no way can I do all of these every morning.
I'll be in spiritual practice all day.
And if I push myself to do all of it every morning?
Well, there is nothing enlightening about that.

You can't half ass your spirituality.

I've been tapping on a regular basis and it has calmed me down.

So now in the mornings, I get up and do yoga.
For me, this is my meditation right now.
When I do yoga, I don't feel like I need to do meditate.
I'm calm. I'm serene. I feel balanced.

I remember when I first started meditating back in 2001.
I was told meditation is mediation.
You can't go on a walk and call that meditating.
You can't go on a run and call that meditating.

I call bullshit.

Elizabeth Gilbert has reminded me that
meditation can be anything really.
Anything that you get completely lost in.

Get lost in something.

Yoga. Writing. Painting.
Whatever tickles your fancy.

Do it fully.

Don't half ass it.

Give in and give it your all.

I promise you it will be just as good,
if not better than a meditation session.

N is for Now - Pagan Blog Project

A couple of days ago I was doing my
usual perusing through Facebook.
I was bombarded in less than 5 minutes with
"do it now" inspirational images.

First I saw this one -
From Karen Salmansohn

Followed by -
Found on The Mind Unleashed

and the 3rd one -
Found on The Mind Unleashed
Okay. Okay.
I get it, Universe.

Loud and clear!

Now is the time.
Sometimes you just have to do it.
You have to take that leap of faith.

I'm listening, Universe.
I'm listening to my intuition.
I'm listening to my heart.

I vow to move forward.
I'm following my dream.

Is there something you want to do, but you haven't?

Do it now.
Later may never happen.
